While conducting our study on quitting
smoking, we came across a great deal of information
on the subject that needed to be evaluated. While
some of this information turned out to be false, we did
come across some information that we felt had value for
those seeking to quit smoking.
So, we've included on this page
information that helps shed some light on using natural
supplements to quit smoking and what it entails. Information such
as the general steps to any quit smoking plan, how
natural quit smoking products attempt to work, and which ingredients are used
primarily in these products.
Once you've decided that you want to
quit smoking, it usually makes sense to have some sort
of "action plan" in place to help you through the
process. It is very difficult to quit smoking if
you have no plan, program or system (although it can be
done).

Most anti-smoking authorities will
suggest at least the following four steps to greatly
increase the odds of quitting successfully. These
four steps form the cornerstones of the most successful
quit smoking programs currently available.
Combined with the right herbal supplement, following
these four steps could actually make quitting smoking a
reality.
The first step is to decide on a date
to quit smoking. I know, it sounds simple, but it
is a very powerful concept that will have repercussions
down the road. Knowing the date of when you quit
for good can give you strength and encouragement in the
difficult times. Although not mandatory, it does
make sense to pick a date that you will easily remember
such as an anniversary or holiday.
The second step involves having a plan
for dealing with the inevitable withdrawal symptoms.
Products such as herbal supplements or nicotine gum are
generally the best choices. People who use these
products actually double their chances of quitting for
good. That's right, double, so make
sure you have something on hand. "Winging it" here
could cost you your freedom from cigarettes.
The third step entails finding people
who can "help" you give up smoking. We're talking
here about a support group of friends, family,
co-workers, acquaintances, whoever. It's important
to let people know what you are doing so that they can
provide comfort, support, and encouragement. You
definitely do not want to go it alone.
The fourth step may seem obvious yet
many ignore it. You must completely remove all
nicotine products from your physical life. That
means getting rid of all your cigarettes in your house,
place of business, car, boat, and everywhere else.
When the withdrawal symptoms appear, you do not want to
grab a cigarette on impulse.
While studying quit smoking
products, we noticed that many of the more successful
brands tend to share a list of common ingredients.
That is, the key ingredients in many of these formulas
were the same. Here is a list of those herbal
ingredients that are used the most for quitting smoking:
• Sarsparilla
• Passion Flower
• Licorice Root
• Bayberry
• Ginger Root
Although this list does not include
every ingredient used for quitting smoking in every
product currently on the market, it does give you an
idea of which herbs are the main drivers in the process.
